Opening hours:

  • Our Shop, Larder Café, and outdoor Canopy Café (covered and heated) are open March to September 9:00-5:30, October to February 9:00-5:00, 7 days a week.
  • Our Greenhouse Café is open Mon-Fri March to September 9:30-4:00
    October to February 10:00-4:00 and Sat-Sun 9:00-4:00 all year round.

  • Please note our Larder Café and outdoor Canopy Café will close at 4.30pm on the last Thursday of each month for staff training.

Play area

Our Play Park is open. Planting in our Sensory Garden will start in the Spring but already the benches are in place for a quiet moment of contemplation and to enjoy our spectacular view. Dogs must be kept on leads in our Play Park.

Our dog policy

Only service dogs are allowed inside the Larder. Other dogs are welcome in our outdoor Canopy Cafe. Please read our dog policy.

Public Transport

There is a bus service (201) from Kinross to Glenrothes, which calls at Loch Leven’s Larder. For the latest timetable, visit the Stagecoach Website.

Things to do

If you are looking for activities in the area, you’ll find plenty to do here. We love to walk on the Loch Leven Heritage Trail; following the Outlander trail to nearby Falkland Place and tracing Mary Queen of Scots’ footsteps to Loch Leven Castle but you’ll find even more things to do here.

We are situated on the North side of Loch Leven, just 10 minutes from the historic town of Kinross and within easy hitting distance from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Dundee. Map and full directions.

      Join artist Tina Scopa for a relaxed class unearthing the wonder of familiar plants and creating unique prints with them. The workshop will begin with a walk to look for the plants, noticing how and where they grow. You will then make simple prints onto paper in which the plants will ‘draw’ themselves, revealing their fascinating forms and pigments. No previous experience or specific skills are required for this workshop.
