Enjoy relaxing retail
Since opening in October 2023 we’ve had so much positive feedback with customers loving the calming ambience. Our displays are regularly changing and evolving and we encourage people to come in and browse and chat about the products.
The name 1848, was inspired by the date the original Channel Farm farmhouse was first built, where three generations of the family have lived. This symbolic date is also engraved in old stone above the entrance of the walled garden where we continue to grow fresh herbs and veg for the kitchen.
Personal Shopping Appointment
Whether you’re looking for inspiration for a home project, choosing the perfect gift, or envisioning a bespoke faux flower arrangement, we warmly invite you to book a personal shopping appointment at 1848 – a private, exclusive hour in our beautiful space.
You’ll be personally looked after by our Manager, Teresa, whose expert eye and thoughtful guidance will help bring your ideas to life. The appointments are 9 – 10am where you would be most welcome to stay once the shops opens. The booking fee is £50 which is redeemable against a purchase on the day. If you’d like to share any questions or photos ahead of your visit, feel free to include them in your email.
