We have lots to offer here at Loch Leven’s Larder from a delicious lunch to a browse around our two shops. We are situated on the banks of Loch Leven making the views spectacular.

Located at the heart of our family farm, there’s so much to enjoy at Loch Leven’s Larder.

A perfect day out

Breakfast, lunch or a sweet treat!

Looking for breakfast? Whether you like the full works (our farmer’s breakfast), something lighter ( like our smashed avocado on toasted sourdough) or can’t resist something sweeter (like our brioche eggy bread with berry compote), there will be something to tempt you.

The perfect food to go spot

Stop by and pick up lunch to go by the Loch and enjoy lunch in a tranquil setting with panoramic views. Remember to leave the area just as you found it and dispose of any litter responsibly.

Why not pick up the perfect lunch to go from our Greenhouse Café (choose from our ever-changing selection of sandwiches & salads, all made by our chefs) or a few deli treats (cheese, olives, sausage rolls and more) with a hot coffee and head out to enjoy the trail.

The Loch Leven Heritage Trail

Loch Leven is a National Nature Reserve that’s important on a global scale. It’s home to large numbers of breeding ducks and a stopover for thousands of migrating geese and ducks flying south for the winter. You can stop at wildlife hides along the trail but you will be sure to spot creatures as you go. The clearly marked path winds through tranquil woodlands, lush farmland and secluded sandy beaches.
The time taken to get all the way around (about 13miles) will vary but around 3-4 hours seems to be the average on foot, longer if you like to spend more time at the various nature hides and viewpoints. Just go at your own pace and enjoy!

Our Sensory Garden was created in 2021 to provide a peaceful haven for a quiet moment of reflection and contemplation for our team and customers. You can enjoy the views from several seating areas or just take a stroll and admire the planting. It continues to impress the more established it becomes.

A children’s play park is more than just a place to play; it’s a space where kids can let their imaginations run wild, develop social skills, and enjoy physical activity in a safe, engaging environment. They can enjoy an imaginary sail in our wooden boat or imagine picking up their harvest from the fields in our wooden tractor.

Visit Burleigh Castle

A 500-year-old tower house, and the seat of the Balfours of Burleigh for more than 250 years. Located just outside the village of Milnathort, 1.5 miles north of Kinross, in Perth and Kinross, Scotland.

See the Bunnet Stane

Less than 4 miles from Loch Leven’s Larder is the Bunnet Stane, one of the most unusual rock formations in Scotland. The relatively gentle walk from the nearest parking area takes around 30 minutes.

Follow Mary Queen of Scots to Lochleven Castle

Take a boat trip to the famous castle which held Mary Queen of Scots captive. Why not follow it with a regal afternoon tea at Loch Leven’s Larder?

Walk the Michael Bruce Way

“How blest the man who, in these peaceful plains, 
Ploughs his paternal field; far from the noise, 
The care, and bustle of a busy world!”

A 3.5 mile walk around the foothills of Bishop Hill; named after poet Michael Bruce (1746-67) whose birthplace in The Cobbles, Kinnesswood, is now a cottage museum.

Outlander Trail

Located on the route between two Outlander filming locations (the historic towns of Culross and Falkland), we’re the perfect stop-off for fans of the Frasers.

National Cycle Network

National Cycle Network Route 1, which starts in Dover and finishes in the Shetland Isles, passes through the heritage trail and by Loch Leven’s Larder. Of course you don’t have to commit to all 1,695 miles and can pick and choose sections that appeal to you.

We opened Loch Leven’s Larder in 2005, and we haven’t looked back – we love giving people the chance to enjoy the beautiful location and to taste our vegetables, brought straight from our field, into our kitchen and served in our café and restaurant.
