Our new design and homewares department is a haven for interior enthusiasts, offering a stunning collection of interior accessories, lighting, and home furnishings that seamlessly blend the timeless charm of Scandinavian design with the rich heritage of Scotland. We are proud to uphold our commitment to sustainability and supporting small businesses, meaning every piece you’ll find here tells a story of craftsmanship, quality, and conscious choices.

Since opening in October 2023 we’ve had so much positive feedback with customers loving the calming ambience. Our displays are regularly changing and evolving and we encourage people to come in and browse and chat about the products.

The name 1848, was inspired by the date the original Channel Farm farmhouse was first built, where three generations of the family have lived. This symbolic date is also engraved in old stone above the entrance of the walled garden where we continue to grow fresh herbs and veg for the kitchen.


This course offers an introductory session on observing and valuing wild plants amidst the cozy setting of Loch Leven’s Larder.
