Down on Channel Farm: March

The extraordinarily dry weather continues. What a difference a year makes, with high pressure from the Med providing unusually warm temperatures.

Winter ploughing continues, in preparation for sowing barley and oats in March. Fertiliser has been applied to our winter cereals to give them a wee boost coming into the warmer weather.

The last of the carrots have been harvested in great conditions which make it easier to prepare the soil for this year’s crop.
