Winners of ‘Best Place for Women’ to Work Award

We’ve won “Best Place for Women to Work” at the Business Women Scotland Hospitality and Tourism Awards!

Loch Leven’s Larder, owned and run by Emma Niven, has gone from a staff count of 7 in 2005 to over 70 staff and is one of the biggest employers in the area. Nine out of twelve management positions in here are held by women, with many being promoted from entry-level positions. The judging panel said the commitment to developing the skills of the team was what made the company really stand out.

Emma says: “This feels like a really special award to receive as we are lucky to have a team who are as passionate about what we do as I am. It’s been wonderful to help staff develop their skills over the past 12 years and we’re are now entering an exciting period of expansion which promises many opportunities for our existing team and other women who may join us in future.”
